Her current area of interest includes an interpenetrating consideration of collectivity, embodiment, and language. Through her practice, she considers how autonomous spaces are assembled through the transfiguration of these things. She likes to leave things open, emphasising the continuity of collaboration and loves nothing more than a good chat. MUCUS TRAP, is a hybrid text, an experimental, poetic essay of sorts. In it, I have situated myself as someone who loves trap music, what it means to me, and what this means. I argue that the slippery language of trap articulates kinship through abject oozings, it bends and evades like the snares that surround the music. In this way, trap denies universality, spectacularity and superficial notions of identity politics. I consider trap music an incredible and intelligent art form and reject conceptions of the lowbrow. I'm interested in de-hierarchising citational practices, and this text is largely intertextual. The construction of cultural connections between the two giant colonised nations from the south is what he is willing to investigate under the light of Global South narratives. A search for new pathways and possibilities for artists, curators and movements. What challenges and futures can be carved when these two seemingly distinct experiences of society connect and tell their stories through Southern perspectives? An exploration of the tensions and potentialities between their ancestral heritages and colonial outcomes in a world on the edge of cultural homogenisation, digital alienation and climate collapse. BLIND SPOT. THE TRANSGRESSIVE FURY OF PIXAçAO VERSUS THE ART WORLDThe following work is an essay on the Pixação movement. My current Honours research is situated at an intersection of Camp theory, critical understandings of coloniality, and the emerging field of settler affect studies. REVIEW OF SARAH RODIGARI’S 2020 SOLO EXHIBITION ‘FUME’, CURATED BY MITCH CAIRNS. Published on Running Dog. The provided example of my writing practice is a review of Sarah Rodigari's 2020 solo exhibition 'Fumé', curated by Mitch Cairns at ANKLES gallery in Alexandria. The piece was commissioned by, and published in, Sydney arts journal Running Dog in November 2020. In this writing, I tried to capture the affect of Rodigari and Cairns' small, meditative exhibition.I consider my review of 'Fumé' a good example of the state of my writing practice one year ago. Since the time of its publication, I feel my writing has evolved, both in its clarity and the nature of its concerns.
